The Start.

Photography has always been a part of my life. When I was young, I would often look through vintage leather albums I found at my grandparents' house. They contained photographs that my grandfather took with his canon film camera, mostly portraits of our family, and them going on adventures when they first came to America in the 1980's, like Mount Rainier and California. My uncle was also part of a film development company so he often brought home disposable point and shoot cameras for me to play with. Trying to copy the photos in the albums, I would bring the disposables along with me every where I went. After developing the film, most of the time my photos were horrible; It was either over-exposed from the flash, totally dark, or my finger would be covering half of the frame... but I was less than 10 years old and didn't know what the heck I was doing.

In my 8th grade year I was gifted my first DSLR camera! It was my good ol' canon rebel XS with the standard kit lens. 10.1MP of bad-ass (in 2018 smartphones have a higher megapixel than this.) It wasn't until my freshman year in high-school that I really started to use it seriously. I actually had a crush on a guy who was a photographer, so I brought my camera to school everyday so he would notice me and we could bond over the subject (LOL... teenager days) We became good friends after that, though. He inspired me to really pursue the hobby and think creatively. I started doing portraits for my friends my senior year in HS, and from there my work continued to grow. Family and friends, and their friends really started to take notice of my work! It's been 3 years since I graduated and started doing photography as a career. I am thankful for all the amazing opportunities and people I've worked with throughout the years, and even more excited for the future clientele I have yet to meet! Photography has taught me many things, and showed me how to see the world through a whole new perspective. I hope to continue to pursue this beautiful craft until my final days, and continue to explore the world with a camera in hand!
