Seattle Fashion Portraits || Lyzelle Maranan || July 2017
Seems like forever since I last posted to this blog but I've made it a goal to start posting a lot more! So many fun and new things happened in the last year and I can't wait to share it with you!
Last month I reached out to one of my good friends, Lyzelle Maranan! After a long-busy month of shooting grad photos and prom, I was in major need of something new and refreshing to get my creative juices flowing again, and I thought, "what better person to ask than another fellow creative!" So we literally walked and commuted all over Downtown Seattle just to find the perfect city spots! Thank goodness for our boyfriends tagging along so they could be our pack mules and personal assistants for the day heheh, (love you babe if you're reading this.) We explored new places and also visited some of my all time favorite locations! Part of the shoot we shot with @thelovemoremovement 's basic tees. This modern clothing brand supports the fight against sex trafficking. Not only can you shop for super cute clothing, but you can do it knowing that some of the money will go towards a greater cause!
It was completely sunny outside which = harsh lighting, so we decided to keep the shoot indoors / in the shade to avoid any unflattering shadows from the mid day sun. My favorite shots were from the Union Station in International District. Its actually one of my TOP places in Seattle to shoot, (especially on a rainy or cold day) What's even cooler is that the building is over 100 years old! I actually stumbled across this place randomly when I was trying to get to the light rail, and as a shortcut I cut through the building... I was instantly starstruck. The diffused light pouring in from the windows, the high arched ceilings with gold and green accents, the vintage subway tiled floors and the loud echoes from even the smallest noise, I LOVE IT. I'm surprised not many people know about this hidden gem!! After we also went to Capitol Hill, and Pioneer Square. So many cute / quaint shops to see and explore! It was great being able to shoot creatively again! Not often do I get the chance to shoot like this since I mostly do portraits for seniors, prom and couples so it was super fun to do something different!
I always love working with Lyzelle because she is such a natural when it comes to the camera! I've worked with her several times now, and this shoot was by far my favorite. Be sure to check out her blog here to see some awesome lifestyle tips, tricks, and all the mix! You can also see her blog post on our portrait session as well to see how she styles these basic tees + you'll find some sweet discount codes! And while you're at it, show her some love on instagram too! @lyzellemaranan ♡ you won't regret it I promise!
Well thats all for now! Here are some of my favorite shots from the shoot! I am so happy with how they all turned out. I had lots of fun playing with the colors and lighting.
